Computing science is one of the basic disciplines of knowledge. Nowadays illiteracy is closely referred to as computer ignorance. The applications of computer in the field of sciences, industries, offices and home have diverged. Therefore, this leads to increase the demand on specialists in this field in the long-term throughout the world. In meeting this demand, considerable demand on university graduates in this field, the Department of Computing and Information Technology plans to provide programs for graduate studies that offers master degree in computing sciences.

The Establishment of the Department
The department started it operations and activities in the academic year 1402/1403 as a section subordinated to the Division of Mathematics in the Faculty of Sciences. In the academic year 1405/1406, it became an independent department.
The Advantages of the Program:
The program is flexible since it includes a number of elective and compulsory courses and it is pliable in terms of registering and distributing these courses over academic semesters. It provides opportunities for the graduates of other majors to enroll after passing some courses.
The proposed program enables students to develop their intellectual skills so that they will cope with the requirements and methodologies of the new computing sciences technologies; consequently, building up new database through focusing on scientific applications.
Objectives:
1. Providing highly skilled and competent specialists in the filed of computer sciences in terms of its knowledge and advanced information, who are in great demand when implementing developmental plans.
2. Preparing scholars and researchers and giving them suitable dosages to carry out more scientific research, develop it and pursuing their higher studies.
3. Providing specialized and experienced individuals and qualifying human resources that can transform modern technologies into reality in our country.
4. Carrying out specialized and developed scientific researches to support scientific research activities in the department in specific and in the university and the society in general.
5. Preparing master degree students to carry out scientific programs and to train employees in the institutions and bodies as a part of the department activities to serve the society.
